An old and wise emperor, wanting to choose his successor, called the children of his kingdom and gave each of them a single seed. "Take these seeds home, plant them, and in a year, return with your plant. The child with the best plant will become the next ruler," he announced.

A humble boy named Lin took his seed home and planted it with great care. He watered it daily and placed it in the sunlight, but weeks passed, and nothing grew. Meanwhile, other children boasted about their flourishing plants. Lin felt sad but refused to be dishonest.

A year later, all the children presented their beautiful plants to the emperor. Lin, however, arrived with an empty pot. The emperor inspected all the plants and then smiled at Lin. "The seeds I gave were boiled and could never grow. All of you, except Lin, have been dishonest," he declared. "Lin has shown true integrity and will be the future emperor!"

The kingdom celebrated Lin’s honesty, proving that integrity and truthfulness are the strongest virtues.

Moral: Integrity leads to true success, even when honesty seems difficult.

One day, a shepherd went to the pastures for grazing his sheep. He was looking after them, when suddenly he saw a wolf approaching him and his herd of animals. He got scared.

But the wolf didn't do anything. He kept moving around the sheep as if to guard them. The shepherd thought that the wolf had changed with the time. Now he had become a vegetarian.

So, the shepherd gave him the responsibility of guarding his sheep and went to take a nap. When he woke up, he was shocked to see that the wolf had eaten all his sheep and had fled the scene. So, the little shepherd boy learned his lesson and promised to never believe anyone again.

Once there was a beautiful world created by God. When God first created this world, there was no desert. The whole world was filled with fertile lands full of beautiful gardens with flowers and vegetable and other trees.

God created man in order to maintain the world. He said to man, “Every time you commit a sin, there will be a peck of sand falling on the ground”.

Man thought, “What harm will a peck of sand do? Let me live as I please”. He started committing wicked sins and pecks of sand started falling on the ground. Still man continued sinning. And the effect is that to-day there are many deserts around us.

Once there lived two frogs in a small hole. It was a rainy day and they were playing on the rain. Slowly, they hopped and hopped and came into a house. There was a churn of milk. Both the frogs fell into the churn.

Both the frogs tried for some time. But in vain. One of the frogs lost hope and said “I can’t swim any more” and he drowned to the bottom. The older did not lose hope.

He kept on swimming. His movements churned the milk into butter. The frog climbed on to a pat of butter and hopped out of the churn.

Moral: God helps those who help themselves.

The Clever Crow and The Pitcher
Once there lived a crow in a jungle. It was then summer season. The day was very hot, when the crow became thirsty. He flied hither and thither in search of water. But he could not find water anywhere.

After some time, the crow came across a pitcher that was lying under a tree. He peeped into it, and found that there was water, but at a very low level, and it was not possible for him to suck it with his beak. He was disheartened. But he did not leave the place, because the presence of water in the pitcher made him eager to drink it.

The crow's eyes suddenly fell on a heap of pebbles which were lying under a nearby tree.

A wonderful idea came to his mind that by dropping the pebbles into the pitcher, the level of the water could be brought to a higher level. So he began to drop the pebbles one by one into the pitcher; and finally, the level of the water was raised by the process, and and he drank it to his heart's content.
